My hand
is clenched,
gripped tightly
with the thoughts that
bind me to the past.
It’s packed with old assumptions
and regrets.
It tightly holds beliefs that bind
and limit life and lives,
my fears of being seen,
of shining.

I turn my hand around

and let them go.
And in that braver choice,
I leave the room
for goodness still to flow.

Is the Devil on your shoulders
with your heart in his hands?
    Which ear hears him hatching
    the most sinister plans?
    Laugh loudly but keep listening
    you will hear Angels sing
of the love in your heart
and the joy they will bring
Yet how d’you know it’s the Devil
    with these sinister plans?
    Who was on Davids shoulders
when he took that sling in his hands
and lifted 5 pebbles instead of Sauls sword
to take on a giant, with all his faith in the lord.

          Darkness meets the light
          Somewhere in the wilderness
          Summer fades away
